Here to guide you through the expanding universe of computer science.
On June 2nd and 3rd, join us at the Homestead Resort in Utah, and learn how intentionally easy it can be to implement computer science topics in your classroom! We'll be covering topics such as:
- Why Computer Science - Understanding Why It’s Important to Learn CS and How CS Improves Other Areas of Learning
- How to Unpack the CS Standards and Do a Cross Walk with the Content Standards
- How to Build Mini-Maker Spaces in Your Classroom
Sessions will run from 9:00am - 3:00pm MST each day, a complete list of the sessions offered can be found below. After registering, you'll be invoiced for the $500 registration fee which will cover entry to two days of sessions, hotel costs for two days, as well as breakfast and lunches each day. We hope to see you there!
Session 1: Why Computer Science?
Overview: Understand why it is important to learn computer science (CS) and how CS improves other areas of learning.
Session 2: Computer Science in K-2
Overview: Discover how to integrate computer science foundations in the K-2 classroom through unplugged activities and block-coding programs.

Session 4: Teaching Cross-Curricular Lessons and Computer Science
Overview: Learn how to cross-integrate computer science with other academic disciplines and its overarching benefits.
Session 5: Cross-walking the CS Standards with Content Standards
Overview: Identify how to compare and integrate computer science standards with other content standards to ensure you are teaching the necessary content in a fun and engaging way.
Session 6: HTML Workshop
Overview: Learn the basics of HTML in this fun coding workshop!
Session 7: Culturally Responsive Teaching
Overview: Enhance your teaching practice and gain strategies to better embrace students' interests, identities, and cultures in the classroom.
