Accessibility statement
Computer science and AI for every student
Every student deserves the chance to learn computer science and AI, including students with disabilities. We design, build and test Skill Struck so students and teachers can use it fully with the tools they rely on, from screen readers to keyboard-only navigation.

Our commitment
Skill Struck's mission is equity in computer science education, and that includes students with disabilities. We build our learning platforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at Level AA, document our conformance in an independently evaluated VPAT, and treat any barrier a student or teacher reports as a bug to fix.
We build with standard HTML, logical headings, labeled controls, full keyboard access and WCAG AA color contrast, so lessons and coding tools work with screen readers and voice control.
An outside accessibility specialist tested our platforms by hand and with automated tools, using the NVDA screen reader, Dragon voice control, keyboard-only navigation and color contrast analyzers.
Automated accessibility tests run in development for our student and teacher platforms. They help catch problems like unlabeled buttons, form labels that aren't tied to their fields, and images without alt text before they reach students.
Compliance
Our learning platforms are evaluated against the accessibility standards schools and public agencies use to judge digital tools.
Levels A and AA
Our learning platforms conform to the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 at Levels A and AA, the international standard for accessible web content (also published as ISO/IEC 40500). Our latest review also covered WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 at Level AA.
Revised standards
We meet the Revised Section 508 Standards for information and communication technology, which build on WCAG 2.0 Level AA. Our VPAT is the Revised Section 508 Edition.
Equal access
Accessible design helps schools give students with disabilities equal access to computer science under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Our VPAT review included the ADA Title III regulations.
Accessibility documentation
A VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is the standard way to report how a product meets accessibility requirements. Ours is an Accessibility Conformance Report that goes criterion by criterion through each standard.
Need the report in another format, or more detail for your district's accessibility review? Email support@skillstruck.com.
VPAT® is a registered service mark of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).
In the classroom
Students and teachers can turn on Skill Struck's accessibility tools in their account settings, then open them anytime with the accessibility button or Alt+A. The tools work alongside screen readers and other assistive technology, and their menus and guidance come in English and Spanish.
If any part of Skill Struck doesn't work with your assistive technology, or you need content in another format, email our support team. Include the app and page, your device and browser, and what got in the way, and we'll work with you to fix it.
You can also reach us through our contact page or the Help Center.
Questions
Yes. Skill Struck's learning platforms conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at Levels A and AA. Our VPAT, dated March 10, 2025, documents the independent review, which also covered WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 at Level AA.
Download it from this page. It's an Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT® 2.5 Rev, Revised Section 508 Edition) covering the Educator Portal, Launch Pad (K–5), Voyage (6–12), Robotics (K–12) and Type Station (K–10). If you need it in another format, email support@skillstruck.com.
Yes. Our platforms were tested with the NVDA screen reader, Dragon voice control and keyboard-only navigation, along with automated tools such as axe DevTools and WAVE. Lessons and tools use standard HTML, logical headings and labeled controls, so assistive technology can read and operate them.
In Voyage and the Educator Portal, open Settings. In Launch Pad, open your profile. Turn on Accessibility Features and save, then select the accessibility button or press Alt+A to pick a profile or individual adjustments.
Some lessons include videos or tools from other providers. Those have their own accessibility policies and aren't covered by our VPAT. If one gets in a student's way, please tell us.
Email support@skillstruck.com with the app and page, your device and browser, and what got in the way. Our team will follow up with you.
