Course Summary
Teaching Machines to See and Hear introduces students to the ways AI systems process and interpret visual and audio data. The course explains the difference between sensing raw data and perceiving meaning from that data. Students explore how machines recognize objects in images through feature detection and how speech recognition systems convert sound waves into text or commands. The course also examines facial recognition technology and the ways biased training data can lead to unfair outcomes.
