Course Summary

This course helps students deepen their understanding of artificial intelligence through engaging activities and interactive tools. They learn how computers use sensors to gather data, how that differs from human perception, and explore machine learning’s applications and limitations. The course also introduces students to AI’s role in various industries and encourages thoughtful discussions about bias, inclusivity, and ethics in AI systems.

Course Outline

    1. Exploring Human Senses and Animal Senses Students develop an understanding of how animals and humans perceive their environments and how they differ.
    2. Computer Sensors vs Humans In this lesson, students will understand what computers can sense that humans cannot and gain an understanding of inputs.
    3. Representation and Recognition In this lesson, students will explore how images are represented digitally, learn about face detection and speech recognition, and apply this knowledge to real-world examples.
